Registered Wellness Consultant - Certified Biofeedback Specialist
Sherry Rhynard uses a variety of techniques to help people reduce their stress and
take greater responsibility for their well-being through awareness, education and
healing practices.
History
Sherry’s interest in health and wellness has been keen since childhood, when she lost her mother after a long battle with breast cancer.
Stress was not a word in Sherry’s vocabulary as a child, but reflecting back, the fear of losing her mother was a tremendous stress. In suppressing the stress, Sherry developed an eating disorder, which she struggled with for many years but eventually overcame.
As a teen, Sherry baked and sold carrot cake to a local health food store. She studied macrobiotics and adapted to a vegetarian diet by age 14. A college course in Eastern religions sparked a life-long practice in Buddhism and meditation.
As an adult, Sherry initially worked in radio and video production. In her thirties, she reconnected with her childhood interest in health and wellness. Sherry was an award-winning documentary filmmaker when she changed her focus and transferred her knowledge and skills to the nonprofit world. She dedicated 16 years to health foundations including Crohns and Colitis, Cystic Fibrosis and the March of Dimes.
When, in 2004, Sherry found herself faced with a diagnosis of stage 2 breast cancer, she sought out complementary therapies to assist in her own recovery.
To help with the brain fog and fatigue that were left as side affects from chemotherapy treatments, Sherry used EPR Biofeedback, after her niece received noticeable benefit from the technique and recommended it. Sherry experienced profound results from a few sessions of the biofeedback. She decided to learn more about it and soon became engrossed in the field of wellness and energetic medicine. In 2007 Sherry was certified to provide direct service to people with stress issues through the Quantum Alliance and the Natural Therapies Certification Board.
She received her Wellness Consultant certification through White Dove Healing and Transformation Meditation certification through Transformation Meditation, Inc.
Today – Ease of Flow
Sherry works in a nurturing and compassionate manner to address stress issues by combining the EPR Biofeedback system with the wellness techniques she has developed through certification and over the course of her own life experience. Identifying stress, gently de-stressing, retraining muscles, rebalancing the body, feeding the body with healthy foods, feeding the mind with healthy thoughts, cleansing, regular exercise and relaxation practices are all a part of her roadmap to ease of flow.
Chinese medicine describes health and disease in relation to principles governing the whole natural world, using concepts such as energy, flow and balance. Wellness is a state of harmony and balance. This is not a static state but a dynamic one, involving continual movement and change. When we lose our ability to move with the flow of life, dis-ease (illness and pain) arises.
Chinese perspective is holistic. There is no separation between one's life, one's mind and one's body. Flow and balance are strongly emphasized. It is the willow, with its ability to bend with the wind that survives the storm. Flowing water will find its way around the stoniest of obstacles.
